What is detox?
In order to become physically stable, an addicted person must undergo a detoxification process in which the alcohol or drugs pass out of the body. This can be physically uncomfortable, even dangerous, for the individual. It is best to have the detoxification process supervised by medical personnel who can manage the physical symptoms of withdrawal.
